Four panes would be better than two...

Four panes would be better than two, take a look at Q-Dir, which is totally free.
Suggestion for using 4 panes:
a) Incoming (Desktop, Downloads...)
b) Ongoing (current work, administrative...)
c) Media (pictures, music, videos...)
d) Cloud & Backup
Of course, you should be able to have multiple tabs per pane.
